Georgia O'Keeffe
by Wilma

Have you ever heard of Georgia O'Keefee?  Well, then you should read this report.  My class has been studying her for the past couple of days.  We know that she was born in 1887 on a farm and she grew up with her brothers and sisters.  As a kid she loved to paint.  She loved a peaceful place to paint.
When she grew up she still loved to paint.  She loved to paint flowers, nature, and gigantic paintings.  As a  adult, she  moved to New York to put her art in a museum.  Soon her paintings were so poplular she started selling them.  Then she married the  owner of the museum.  Next she moved to New Mexico to visit a friend.  She returned to New York often to be with her husband, but she loved New Mexico so she stayed there.   She found animal bones there that she thought were beautiful to paint.  So she painted a lot of skulls from animals just like the one in the phtograph above.  But on March 6, 1986 Georgia died.  To this day she is still one of the most famous American artists ever!  So as you can see, it was very interesting to learn about Georgia O'Keeffe.

Have you ever seen a Georgia O'Keeffe painting?  Well, my whole class has been studying Georgia O"Keeffe for the past few days and she is awesome!!!  Georgia O'Keeffe was born in 1887 on a small farm in Wisconsin.  She was not the only child.  She had two brothers (one older, one younger) and four youger sisters.  Georgia was smart and shy, but most of all she was artistic!
Georgia was veeerrry artistic!  She loved to paint, draw, and sketch.  She loved to paint what she saw and felt with her senses and expressions. and she loved to paint animal bones.   Georgia traveled alot, so she drew things that she saw everywhere she went.  She painted a lot of fantasy, but the #1 thing she was most famous for was her huge flowers.  She became famous at a young age and people wrote books about her with her paintings as illustrations.  Sadly, Georgia died on March 6, 1986.  She was 99 years old. But people still love her paintings and enjoy reading about her.   So as you can clearly see, Georgia was truly an amazing artist.  Just take a look at her paintings and see for yourself!
